the ages, science and education have had a profound effect on
human life and its development, history has proven that the advancement
of nations and people is directly correlated to their advancement
both in education and science and their ability to keep pace with
development.
On the other hand, backwardness of nations and people can be
directly correlated to their inability to harness science and
technology.
As a consequence, the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of
Bahrain gives great importance to the information challenges that
face our nation in this time in history, especially since globalization
and modern communication systems have transformed our world into
a global village.
It is evident that today we are experiencing the advent of a
new era, in which information technology and tete-communication
systems are changing rapidly. This change is reflected on the
development of all aspects of life in general .It has become inevitable
that we participate in this change in order to ensure a prosperous
future for our nation.
Since the Ministry of Education is the official agency responsible
for the implementation of the Kingdom’s education strategy, it
has taken the responsibility to proliferate the use of information
technology both within the Ministry and between schools. The objective
being to gain the optimum benefit from the diverse educational
resources available worldwide.
In this respect, the use of the internet plays a key role in the
Ministry’s efforts to open up resources to all schools in the
Kingdom.
Computer equipment and internet connections are made available
to all schools and schools are encouraged to develop their own
web sites .In addition, the Ministry has implemented a plan to
provide computer training to thousands of its employees both administrators,
specialists and teachers, in order to ensure the most effective
use of information technology.
The main objective of the Ministry web site is to provide a platform
for effective interaction between the staff, students and the
public. It also provides an important channel of communication
between the Ministry and the rest of the world.
