Promotion of New Children Entrants to Second Primary  Grade
 (Issued according to the Ministerial Decision of 11/11/1984)

• Article 1: New children entrants are allowed to be promoted directly to the second primary grade if they fulfilled the criteria mentioned below.
  
  
• Article 2: The criteria for promoting children to second primary grade are as follows:
  

1. The parent should register his/her child who meets the admission requirements of the first primary grade in the school he/she wish his/her child to be admitted. He/she should fulfill all the procedures followed for the first primary grade admission.
   
   
2. The parent should apply to the Directorate of Primary Education during the first week of September showing his/her willingness to promote the child to second grade. He/she should present the following:
   
   
• a certificate showing that the child is not less than six and half years old at the beginning of    the academic year, and
• the school registration form.
  
  
  
3. The child should pass basic skills' test in Arabic language and mathematics set by the Evaluation Unit at the Directorate of Curricula.
   
   
4. The Directorate of Primary Education notifies the schools about the children who can be promoted to the second primary grade during the first week of October.
